Andrew Durso

South Campus Resident Director

Profile

I am a graduate of Roberts Wesleyan where I served as an RA for two years. During my time as an undergraduate student, I fell in love with the atmosphere, the community and the growth I made in my spiritual life. Going to Roberts for my undergraduate degree was the best decision I made and has made such an impact on who I am today. Because of this, I was able to return to Roberts after graduating and become a Resident Director, a role in which I could not be happier. My favorite thing about working in Residence Life is the connections I get to make with those who attend Roberts. On top of that, actually being involved in living on campus has created so many unique opportunities that could only happen with this role. Being able to help invest and pour into different students who are at different points in their personal and spiritual journey is the most incredible part of this job. Being able to be around campus and live here for my job gives me the opportunity to be there for those who need it. Students can often find me around campus or hanging out in the lobby of the dorms throughout the evenings.

I grew up in the church and as a pastor's kid so being involved in faith has always been part of my life, but coming to Roberts Wesleyan really was able to help me find out who I was and where God was calling me. I truly never imagined I would be in this role today, but I fully believe that this is where God has called me to be and lead. I love investing in other people and helping them grow into who God has called them to be, and I do my best to incorporate that in my job every step of the way. I am now starting my journey at Northeastern Seminary, so growing in faith is something that I try to continually do and assist those who want it. Being a spiritual and personal mentor to those on campus is two roles I take seriously.

If you are looking to be a resident on campus, it is something I highly recommend, not just because I am biased, as it is part of my job, but there is always something going on with friends. Some of my favorite memories from my time at Roberts Wesleyan as an undergraduate student are the spontaneous adventures that my friends and I went on. Late night talks that lasted until 3 am, playing video games in the suite,s and being able to grow independently by being away from home were some of the best experiences I could have had. I think everyone should try living on campus for at least one year to see the personal growth and relationships that are able to be made!
