ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF NURSING

Roberts Wesleyan University invites candidates to apply for a full-time (10-month), tenure-track Nursing faculty position beginning July 1, 2026. The School of Nursing is housed on our park-like campus in Rochester, New York, providing the program with the advantages of a suburban setting within a vibrant metropolitan area.

In support of the diversity of thought, Roberts offers over 60 undergraduate programs/majors, including 2 associate's programs and 5 bachelor's completion programs, alongside a portfolio of 22 master's and doctoral programs, and 26 online programs, including hybrid options; our first doctoral program launched in 2016.

The School of Nursing is over 70 years old with traditional undergraduate prelicensure baccalaureate, RN to BS completion, three Masters of Science (Nurse Educator, Nursing Leadership and Administration, and Family Nurse Practitioner) with related Post-Masters Certificate programs.


Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related field; doctorate preferred.

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in New York.

  • Experience in nursing education, including both in-person and virtual; able to teach a wide variety of students in traditional and nontraditional programs.

  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership or managerial role.

  • Strong knowledge of technology. 

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrate multicultural competence.

  • Commitment to a Culture of Care.

Candidates must also demonstrate a strong commitment to the integration of Christian faith and professional practice and a willingness to support the University’s Christian mission and identity. Responsibilities:

While teaching is the primary responsibility of faculty, effective performance also encompasses service; profession-related activities; scholarship; academic advising of nursing students; participation on School of Nursing and university committees; and collaborative efforts to continuously evaluate and improve the Systematic Evaluation Plan to ensure compliance with accreditation, legal, and regulatory requirements.

The approved salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000. Salary and rank are commensurate with education and experience.
