Leading With Purpose: Alum Lauren Kolb Named President and CEO of Mercy Flight Central

Roberts alumna Lauren Kolb ‘10, ‘12 (Organizational Management and Strategic Leadership) has been named the new President and CEO of Mercy Flight Central.

Mercy Flight Central is a nonprofit air medical service providing critical care and transport across New York State. She will officially assume her new role on December 1, 2025, succeeding longtime leader Jeff Bartkoski.

“It is a tremendous honor to join Mercy Flight Central,” Kolb shared.

“This organization is defined by the skill, dedication, and unwavering commitment of its teams, who fulfill a lifesaving mission every day across our region. I look forward to building upon that incredible foundation and ensuring MFC remains a premier provider of critical care transport for our communities.”

Kolb brings a wealth of leadership experience from her work in the financial and nonprofit sectors, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and Senior Wealth Advisor at Tompkins Financial Advisors. Throughout her career, she has driven innovation, growth, and community engagement, qualities that have earned her numerous honors, including the 2023 Alumna of the Year award at Roberts Wesleyan University, the ATHENA Award for women in leadership, and the Rochester Business Journal’s Financial Leadership Award.

Beyond her professional success, Kolb has demonstrated a deep commitment to service, holding leadership roles with organizations such as the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and Pittsford Volunteer Ambulance. Her heart for people and her belief in mission-driven leadership reflect the values at the core of a Roberts education.

Kolb’s appointment also strengthens an existing connection between Mercy Flight Central and Roberts Wesleyan University’s School of Nursing. Dr. Robert Dorman, Nursing Program Director and longtime Mercy Flight flight nurse, shares:

“We are proud to welcome a Roberts alum to this important position. Mercy Flight Central has already partnered with our Interprofessional Education simulation day and summer nursing camp, and this new leadership may open doors for even deeper collaboration.”
